Principal Message

Dear Parents and Students,

Our School is a vibrant community of learners working in a collaborative atmosphere to provide growth opportunities for all of our learners every day. This collaborative model, made up of staff, students, and parents, has developed an academic program that assures that every child learns. The academic programs and building culture at Irle School embody the educational direction set forth in the Glasgow Public School Vision statement. The Irle School staff and curriculum develop the basic skills of learning, challenge our students to excellence, foster an opportunity for creative expression, promote both independent and interdependent learning, and engender support from parents and the community, Irle School students are empowered to make choices that will lead them to be lifelong learners and enjoy lives filled with dignity, respect, happiness and opportunity. The Irle School staff meets regularly in cross grade level, cross discipline teams to discuss building issues, to collect data, and to analyze data in order to drive instruction. In these inquiry-based teams, teachers review student work and share effective instructional practices. Each grade level meets on a regular basis to review, units, and coordinate approaches to grade level issues. Through these grade-level teams, we have developed programs to meet the needs of all students. We are proud of the warm and caring learning community that is Irle School and of the outstanding individuals - staff, students, parents, community - that make it a wonderful place to experience the love of learning. We encourage you to visit us and witness the excitement of learning for yourself. We extend an invitation to you so that you may discover how to become part of our community of learners.

Sincerely,

Edward Sugg

Irle School Principal
