My name is Christine Gilchrist. I grew up in Los Angeles, California and moved to Helena, Montana in 1995 when I was a freshman in HS. I started singing from a young child and learned to play the violin in 5th grade. As a High School student I played in the Helena Symphony. Once I graduated high school, I attended the University of Montana music dept and graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Music Education. I played in the Missoula Symphony for eight years and also was involved in a string quartet to play at events as well as the Butte Symphony, Glacier Symphony and the Montana Summer Symphony. When I graduated from the University of Montana, I received my first job at Hellgate Elementary in Missoula. I taught 3rd-8th grade music and choir. I moved to the wonderful town of Glasgow in 2007 and taught in Opheim K-12 music for a year before I started teaching at Irle Elementary School in 2008. This is my 10th year in Glasgow and my 14th year teaching. I teach K-5 elementary music and I love it! I have 3 daughters and a husband that works at the National Weather Service. Glasgow is an amazing community and I am so lucky to be able to teach your children my love of music! My favorite things to do are spend time with my family, play my violin and sing and travel. Irle has two major programs a year- Christmas and Spring. This is when your child gets to shine and perform. Performing is my favorite time of the year. Please contact me if you have any questions! Thank you!
