Outdoor Learning Lab Receives Grant

Ann Kulczyk, DNRC/ID Grant Manager, notified Bob Connors, Superintentdent of the following grant award:

"Congratulations! We are pleased to announce that you have been awarded an Irrigation Development Grant for $10,000.00.

The ranking decisions were based upon the funding available and the irrigation development and sustained benefits demonstrated in your application.  This biennium, the 2017 Legislature awarded the Irrigation Development Grant Program $300,000.  This round of Irrigation Development grants was increasingly competitive.  There were 20 applicants for a total of $338,533 all competing for $100,000 available in this grant cycle."

The district plans are to purchase an additional rainwater collection tank and complete the underground watering system in this, Phase II of our Outdoor Learning Lab.

In Phase I, the District received a $12,000 grant.  The district purchased and installed its first rain water collection tank and began the underground sprinkling system.

We are very excited about being able to complete Phase II of our project.  The Outdoor Learning Lab will produce vegetables for our salad bar.  It will also be utilized for cross curricular projects.
